2017 GREAT AMERICAN SONG CONTEST Review

"This intensely cinematic arrangement really stands out among the front runners in this category. You impressively navigate between styles and have the enviable ability to balance lightness with intensity. This most certainly is well written and has an arrangement that keeps things moving - you clearly know how to make an impact."

2016 MARVIN HAMLISCH FILM SCORE Review

"This was an amazing score that did such an incredible job towards enhancing most every moment. The orchestration was interesting, creative and accurate, with great use of wind instruments, strings and definitely even piano, during the pianos scene (2:24). I loved the thematic music at 2:36 onwards. It was very Maurice Jarre (Lawrence of Arabia) but with it’s own unique voice of course. The score did best bringing comedy and adventure to light with creative use of arrangement and spot-on melodies at times."

2016 MARVIN HAMLISCH FILM SCORING REVIEW

A symphonic, sardonic Kurt Weillian cabaret music, that yields a Sorcerer’s Apprentice effect (I wonder why none of the others that I reviewed saw this possibility?). This music truly brings out the zany and yet disturbing aspects of the film. Bravo!

ORCHESTRA BALLET EDGE OF THE WORLD 2003

"Powerfully dramatic, if mysterious in message, Edge of the World, for piano and orchestra was enormously impressive. The first orchestral work by young South Australia composer Falkenberg, bristled with confidence and life in a broadly film music idiom.…the strength and originality of Falkenberg's score was beyond question."
